Lex:lead is happy to announce a essay competition for students in developing countries. Up to 15 one-time awards of US$500 will be awarded in February 2023 to winning essays submitted by 31 December 2022 answering:

Lex:lead, Lawyers for Economic Advancement and Development invites submissions from students in developing countries to apply for its 2022 essay competition.
Requirements:
For your essay to be considered, you must:
- Be a student in eligible developing countries
- Register online
- Be enrol in accredited studies with at least one law class
Eligible Countries:
For the 2022 Lex:lead essay competition, the eligible countries are as follows:
- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Kiribati, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tuvalu, Yemen, Haiti, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, DR Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
Essay Reward and Benefits

Essay Details
The topic for the 2022 Lex:lead is or should answer
“How can developments in Fintech impact upon economic development and how should it be regulated?“
- Essays must be in English, typed and attached as a PDF for a total of not more than five pages
- All work submitted must be the applicant’s own, original work with clear attribution
- where other sources are consulted
- Submissions must be made using the Identification Number assigned at registration and contain no information that could lead to independent identification of the applicant
- Page size must be standard (8”x11” or A4)
- Font size may not be smaller than 10 point and applicants are advised to use a font such as Times New Roman
- If the idea is not the writers own, writer must cite where he/she found it, e.g., with book title, author, and page number or interview subject and date, in sufficient detail for
- the citation to be found and verified
